Lead with your heart…by Suzie

Lead with your heart…I have found on my journey and t of being a Mom, friend and guide for others that the heart’s vessel never lies…it is where the crown jewels reside…we can easily avoid exploring the depths of our heart out of fear or inexperience yet choosing that route, I have found myself as well as in clients leads to finding greater awareness, depth and resources for attaining both energy and yes, joy.

Please feel free to ask any questions here or at my website:

I am here for you,

All love and blessings,

Listening Is a …

Listening Is a GIFT in itself…

It is not as important to talk as it is to BE  a genuine space of LISTENING for other people. What I mean by that is most people truly just want to be HEARD and by allowing someone in your life to speak uninterrupted you are aiding them in their healing. I have learned this unbelievable gift at age 48.5 after many decades of giving my opinions and subsequent advice to family members and friends. My opinion may be quite valid but more to the point is allowing the space for another to express themselves fully.

Please make an experiment and next time a friend, colleague or spouse is talking, simply listen and refrain from commenting. It creates energy to SHIFT and room for both people to GROW.

A 50 year old Gem named Peter..

My husband Peter turns 50 tomorrow and unlike previous birthdays he has never made much of a deal about how it is spent. This birthday has great significance for him on many levels now, however. The first being that his BELOVED father passed away in England a year and a half ago and that was EXCRUCIATING for him to endure and he misses his dad daily… He was much like Natie in how he looks to his quiet and graceful composure not to mention impeccable manner of dressing. Next, it has been 10 years since Peter survived a cancer that is common in elderly people but was diagnosed at 38 with 3 young children. Miraculously, he healed and didn’t require follow-up treatment, but wears his long scar like a badge of both COURAGE and GRATITUDE he survived and thrived. Lastly, Peter was determined to getting in great shape for the BIG 50 and now runs 2.5 miles daily and is back to the way he felt in his late 20’s.

When my youngest son went out shopping for 50 birthday decorations, I was struck at the grace Riley has in his composure at nearly 14 much like his Dad does at 50.

Tomorrow will be a family day of breakfast prepared by the kids and I as well as a packed up picnic and a boat ride in the harbor. We will see fireworks in the evening and truly CELEBRATE the health and gratefulness for this amazing guy/father named Peter.

If you ask Peter what matters most to him it is always the same answer: that my wife, kids and family are happy & healthy. WHAT A GEM.

Who are you celebrating in your life today?

“Gifts from the…

Joy is..Giving from the heart.

“Gifts from the heart always matter.”

I have a twin brother who is a very hard-working, self-made man. He took his passion for collecting memorabilia from Hollywood and restores these old artifacts into treasures. He feels like he is helping the memory of these nostalgic pieces stay in people’s lives..he truly has a passion for them.  He loves his 5 year old daughter and wife and works very hard.

I wanted to give him a treasure and went to the art store in search of something special to make him ( being his super-spiritually minded sis I wanted to make something).

I found a tiny treasure chest and sanded it and wrote in glitter glue BREATHE, COURAGE, FAMILY, LOVE and FAITH. I sat it on my sunny deck to dry then filled the small box with magical colored confetti and placed a  small pine cone in it that I found on my hike earlier in the week. The pine cone was unusual in that it appeared like a lotus flower so I carefully painted a golden center with red-silvery highlights. Last step was I placed an orange metallic butterfly in the treasure chest and will mail it in the morning. My twin will LOVE the box and its sentiment and I loved making it for him.

What treasures have you unearthed in your life today?

” Love Endures …

” Love Endures Through Patience, Forgiveness and Commitment”

26 years ago I got married to my soul-mate Peter. We met when I was 18 and he was almost 20 at a leadership program in California. He was living in England at the time. We corresponded for years using aerograms and I have saved them all in shoe boxes for my kid’s and Peter and I to read one day. The road has been smooth, rough, bumpy, curvy and at time jagged, yet we have endured. Through it all, I believe our strength lies in our love, patience, commitment and true ability to have forgiven each other for our mistakes both big & small. We have 3 amazing children that is our biggest BLESSING. On this wedding anniversary, I say THANK YOU PETER for loving me always as I am.

In gratitude,

Purple bliss…

Walking along the peaceful streets in Turtlerock last night with my husband,Peter I was in a very ZEN state…As we neared our last mile we were greeted by hundreds of pale purple petals from the Jacaranda grove marking our path..As I looked up, tears filled my eyes at the sheer beauty and bliss of the purple canopy of color stretching her limbs towards the heavenly sky..All is well I breathed in deeply.

What brings you bliss in your life?

” Having an att…

” Having an attitude of gratitude brings warmth to your heart & soul.” ~~~Suzie Abels

I have come to learn on my own spiritual journey that having an “attitude of gratitude has added warmth to my heart & soul,” no matter what is happening in my life.  On Sunday, for example I was hosting almost 20 family members at my house for Father;’s day and my niece’s birthday. I was putting all my energy into seeing that my husband was happy as well as guests. I left to pick up the cake when I backed into my neighbor’s car causing significant damage. After the initial shock, I was immediately brought to how grateful I was that she was so easy about it as well as super-grateful she, myself nor passenger were not injured.  My heart and soul got the message of the afternoon mishap almost in minutes: SLOW-DOWN and PAY ATTENTION to what’s around you.  While, I was bummed at the financial setback I was more aware of my heart-soul gratitude.

What does having an “attitude of gratitude” in your life doing for you?
